Introducing the Faculty
Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology, accept students in a wide vraity of subfields as:

 
1-  Control, Power, Electrical and Communication engineering for Undergraduate
2- Control, Electrical, Power, Communication, Energy management(Power engineering subfield) and Mechatronics engineering for graduates
3- Control, Power, Electrical and Communication engineering for Doctorate

 
This faculty also offers online courses for masters in the fields of energy management and telecommunications (ICT).
In nutshell, Research fields of each department are:

Electrical department:
Electronic systems, microelectronics, digital electronics, robotic optical electronics, photonic and construction of semiconductor devices technology, pattern recognition, letters recognition, designing secure systems, parallel computing, digital image processing, speech processing, neural networks and earthquake signal processing. This department has been pronounce as the center of excellence in digital processing since 2012.
Communication department: Antennas, wave propagation, radars, microwave, millimeter wave technology, wireless telecommunications, Electromagnetic compatibility, Non-Destructive Testing, speech processing, image processing, Optical Communications, Coding,information compression and satellite telecommunications.  This department has been pronounce as the center of excellence in Radio Telecommunications since 2005.

Power department:
Electric machines, power Electronics, electricity management, new energies, insulations, high pressure, electromagnetic compatibility, non-destructive Testing, HVDC  and FACTS systems, transient and dynamic states, development of simulator software, power quality, motor speed control, application of computational intelligence and hybrid car. This department has been pronounce as the only center of excellence in the country, in power field since 2000.
Control department: Definite, stochastic and fuzzy modeling, dynamic and biological systems, system stability, system identification, optimal and adaptive control, neural networks, fuzzy logic, robotics and automation. This department has been pronounce as the center of excellence in control and robatic since 2012.

Mechatronics department:

The objective of this group is training specialists who can lead projects by synergically integrating   Mechanics and Electronics with Computers or Control expertise. This group  is established  in 2009. Amirkabir University of Technology is one of the pioneers in training students in Mechatronics  in Iran. We can proudly say that this group is now  a successful example of cooperation and collaboration among different faculties at Amirkabir University of Technology where distinguished  professors from the four faculties of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering and Computer Science, and two research centers of New Technologies and Aerospace are training  Master students. In this program,  the students are co-supervised by two professors with two different discipline and expertise. This helps  to provide  an interdisciplinary atmosphere for research. Statistics show that  a high percentage of our graduates are currently working  in high-tech industries or studying/teaching  at high ranking  universities, world wide.


The faculty of Electrical Engineering has three scientific poles: Power, Telecommunications, Control and Robotics.
